Keith Miller - Managing Director
Adam Bulbulia, Branch Manager / Senior Recruitment Consultant
Adam joined Octain Recruitment at the start and is one of the Senior Recruitment Consultants on the construction desk. He had previously worked at another local recruitment company and prior to that had been a trouble-shooter for a national sports retailer. Adam brings a great deal of experience in customer facing roles and uses this on a daily basis at Octain.
Adam together with Tom has built up the construction desk to the success it is today. The experience within our construction team is very diverse and still growing. We constantly strive to keep abreast of latest industry developments and we believe, because of this attitude, we are in a position to offer our clients the best possible service.
Adam has always been a keen sportsman and had dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player. Alas that wasn’t to be although he still plays when he can. Adam’s family originates from the Caribbean and they often venture back to Barbados. Although these days Adam can be seen flying slightly further a field to Las Vegas to hook up with his girlfriend – talk about long distance relationships!
Tom Burks, Branch Manager / Senior Recruitment Consultant
Tom started his career in his family’s firm as a tea taster and worked for nearly ten years in both the import and export side of the business learning a lot about tea. During his time with the company he visited Argentina on a tasting trip. Tom soon after decided to take the plunge and move away from the industry hunting for a new challenge and settled on recruitment.
Tom joined the company from the off and has invested a lot of time and energy in building up the respectable portfolio of clients that the company now has. He works with Adam as a Senior Recruitment Consultant and together they have established the company as one with the most reputable construction desks in the country.
His free time has changed dramatically recently with the arrival of young Albie, his son, who was born in the summer of 2009. Tom still finds time to watch a few football matches. He is a keen West Ham supporter like many of his colleagues.
Marc Fritsch, Senior Consultant
Marc started at Octain working on site in many Driving and Construction roles and has now fully joined the team as a Consultant as Octain continues to grow. Marc's expertise is in the Shopfitting and Fit Out field.
In his spare time he enjoys frequent visits to his local gym, long distance running and keenly follows Liverpool Football Club.
Barbara , Senior Recruitment Consultant
Barbara joined the team in July 2011. With her unrivaled experience in sales Barbara along with Marc have helped push Octain to a whole new level. An excellent addition to the team!
Simon Mackie, Senior Rail Consultant
Simon came to Octain Recruitment with 15 years experience in the rail industry and has joined the team as a Senior Recruitment Consultant on the rail desk. In the past he has worked for Coyles and TES. He worked for Coyles for nine years and prior to worked for TES for six years.
He is now putting all his practical expertise to good use and has a proactive role in defining the future development of this new area of Octain Recruitment. He has had hands on experience of working directly with the rail companies including: Network Rail and Railtrack so he is in a perfect position to clearly understand their needs and deliver against their expectations.
Simon is another football supporter in the team, he supports West Ham . . . can you imagine the antics in the office when West Ham play Arsenal!
Alison Parmenter, Administrator / Accounts
Alison has been with Octain since 2008 where she started as a part-time administrator taking on the key position of supporting the team in a magnitude of office administration tasks. Over the last 18 months as the business has grown so has Alison’s role, her time spent in the office has increased as have the list of things she has to do.
Alison took a career break to raise her three children but prior to that had always been in administration or sales jobs. She has developed a sound set of skills along the way which helps now keep control and order in the office.
At home Alison enjoys cooking family meals for her husband Gary and her children, and is a keen fan of football, her team being Arsenal.
Claire Page, Administrator
Claire is the latest edition to the administrative team at Octain Recruitment, joining in April 2011. Claire has settled in brilliantly and hit the ground running since taking over from Jade and Siobhan (whom we would like to thank and wish all the best in her new job!) Claire specialises in compliance and has taken over our Link - Up as she is the most organised person in the office by a long way! Along with Alison, Claire is also an Arsenal supporter and is a keen follower of Golf and Rugby too!
